THE ISI/InterFORUM E-COMMERCE AWARDS 2000
Sponsored by BT, the Welsh Development Agency and the National Assembly for Wales.
WINNER - North Wales Holiday Cottages & Farm Houses.
"...congratulations ... on a most excellent win" - Chief Executive - Wales Tourist Board.
Having
won the Welsh Regional Award, the next stage is the National Finals in London.
Just getting this far is a fantastic achievement and winning this prestigious
award clearly proves that our website is both developing and is engineered
with you, the end user in mind.
We are so pleased to have won this award and have plans to develop the site
further over the next few months. The big change currently underway is that
we are adding, with the help of our web developers, the Marketsite, a new
'availability check system'. This will mean that our clients will find it
much easier to check availability in all our cottages. We hope this system
will be launched in the next couple of weeks.
What
was the criteria for the award?
"The judges have assessed each entry into this category in the context
of how e-commerce solution meets the purpose of the business. The planned
impact on business, the actual commercial benefits, the application of the
technology and the standard of innovation were important factors for the judging
of this category. If the e-commerce solution included a website, the design,
marketing and innovation of the site were also considered."
What
people have said to us:
"...I just wanted to put in writing my congratulations to you and your
colleagues at North Wales Holiday Cottages & Farm Houses on a most excellent
win, which not only must be good for you but certainly raises the profile
of the tourism industry in Wales." Jonathan Jones (Chief Executive)
- Wales Tourist Board.
"Just a short note to say how delighted I was to hear of your outstanding
success at the Western Mail Business Awards...
On a personal level, I take a great interest in IT innovation and especially
the creative use of e-commerce. The fact that an independent tourism business
such as North Wales Holiday Cottages beat off the competition from a wide
range of other sectors, is a huge achievement." Philip Evans (Chairman)
- Wales Tourist Board.
