Blaenau Ffestiniog has been associated with slate quarrying for over 200 years but is now mainly a centre for tourism. Surrounded by the Snowdonia National park the beauty of the surrounding area has helped its popularity rise in recent years. Several tourist attractions are located here including the Ffestiniog Railway, Llechwedd slate caverns, Antur Stiniog and Zip World.
