Location

Ardwy apartment is the top floor apartment of a beautiful Victorian villa, on the lower slopes of the Great Orme, yet close to the town of Llandudno, having spectacular views of both beaches and the Snowdonia Mountain range beyond. Built in 1885, at the height of the town's popularity as a resort, the villas have remained in the ownership of the same family right up to the present day and retain many original features. The town with its Victorian pier and promenade are a short walk away as are many excellent restaurants. The Great Orme tramway will take you to the summit and the Country Park, alternatively there is a cable car ride from the nearby artificial Ski slope which also offers snowboarding and a toboggan run. The town of Llandudno has beaches to both the East and West, and is convenient for day trips into Snowdonia via the Conwy Valley or along the coast. There are four golf courses within 5 miles, and plenty of opportunities for sailing, riding, or even paragliding in the area.

Fantastic views, An interesting property, Very difficult access via steep drive and stairs. But if you can get up to it, it is very worthwhile.

Fantastic views great apartment with plenty of space but not for the faint hearted
  • 4 out of 5
The property is specious, warm, with well-equipped kitchen facility and well-paced for gorgeous views. One problem we encountered was the defunct washing machine. In the end we took the wet clothed from the washing machine to a launderette which cost us £7 to wash. This was all explained in a note we left on departure. Apart from that we really enjoyed our stay at the flat.
