Location

The views from this lovely, cosy, hillside cottage are wonderful. Laid out below you in the green countryside are the local towns Rhuddlan (famous for its 13th century castle), Abergele (with its golf course, shops and beach at Pensarn) and Bodelwyddan (with its castle an impressive manor house from the 1400s now open as a Historic House museum and gardens). Views continue on to the Llandudno's Great and Little Orme headlands and towards the setting sun.
The little hamlet of Cwm nestles into the hillside near the larger village of Dyserth, a historic mining village with a beautiful waterfall. A short drive to the coast brings you to the wide sandy beach at Talacre with Gronant dunes and the Little Tern colony at one end and Point of Ayr and the mouth of the Dee Estuary at the other. There is so much to explore and discover on your doorstep yet Snowdonia, the Clwydian Range even Chester are all just a short drive away. The possibilities are endless.

We had 3 wonderful nights in this cottage. It offered all the home comforts you could wish for. Wonderful views, great location. Enjoyed the recommended Blue Lion pub for food and drinks. No hesitation in recommending this cottage.
  • 4 out of 5
A lovely little cottage with everything we needed for a short break. The weather was cold but the cottage was lovely and warm, with the wood burner available if we wanted it. A quiet spot with hardly any traffic and good walks out of the front door. The lounge/diner and kitchen were fairly small but well furnished and the patio was fully enclosed for our puppy though, again, quite compact.

Absolutely Fabulous Cottage enjoyed our stay quiet getaway

Great bolehole. Cottage is well presented, clean and modern with ample room. Kitchen is stocked with good equipment to enable cooking if so desired. Lounge is comfortable with the log burner, sky TV and good speed wi-fi. Sofas are a little small and could do with updating but this is the only criticism for the lounge. Nice bedrooms, good comfy beds. Electric shower is powerful enough and hot. Very dog friendly and so it the The Blue Inn pub at the bottom of the hill. Fantastic views from rear windows over Snowdonia in the distance and the Great Orme. Location is well away for privacy but close enough to services by car to not feel too remote.

Please remember that these are people's opinions and not an official grading or statement of fact. There should be enough information in the descriptions and pictures for you to be able to make an informed decision about the suitability of this cottage, if you are unsure of something then please call or email us. All our cottages are regularly inpsected by our agency and by Visit Wales (an independent Welsh Goverment body) and meet all the requirements of holiday lettings.

The Old Threshing Barn

Rhuddlan 1 Rhuddlan Golf Club

Rhuddlan is a charming little town, found on the banks of the River Clwyd in Flintshire, North Wales. The town is mostly famous for the imposing ruins of the castle here, built by the conquering King Edward I during his 13th century conquest of Wales, but the golf club makes for an equally worthwhile reason to visit.

Rhudlan Castle By River Rhuddlan Castle

Built in 1277 by King Edward I, Rhuddlan Castle was erected as a part of the English Conquest of Wales. It is actually an important location for the history of Great Britain: the Statute of Rhuddlan was signed here in 1284, bringing Wales officially under the rule of the English once and for all.

Sunset over Prestatyn Beach Prestatyn Ffrith Beach

Prestatyn Ffrith Beach is a perfect example North Wales’ best sandy beaches. The beach is really long, making it nice for a lengthy stroll with a dog, especially as it is entirely dog friendly, meaning canines are welcome on the beach all year round.
