A beautiful cottage, providing a quiet and peaceful retreat. High standards throughout the property.
  • 5 out of 5
Had an excellent holiday 10/10. Very private, peaceful and pretty location. Great communication from owners. Plenty of privacy from owners. Kitchen cupboards were stocked with most essentials. Sky TV and modern TV with HDMI input. Plenty of fire wood for the log burner although you probably won't need it since the cottage is well insulated. Feeding the alpacas was a fun bonus. A couple of tips for future visitors: (1) Would not recommend bringing more than one car due to limited parking space near cottage and single-lane access to the property. (2) If you are a bath person like me then you will need to be patient with the hot water system and allow plenty of time for the tub to fill up, whilst the water tank catches up. At the time of writing (Aug 2017) the hot water system is due an upgrade from the original pipes. (3) If you're a food snob like me then you may be disappointed that the only grocery shop we could find within a reasonable distance was a Spar. (4) If you're a cooking snob like me then you may be disappointed that the hob is electric with timer control. The on/off timer control makes it difficult to adjust the temperature of the hob.

It's not very far to Betws y Coed, Llanrwst and Bodnant Welsh food Centre, where you should find a good selection of fine (local) food. There is plenty of parking space further from the house.

Logoanturstiniog Antur Stiniog

This not-for-profit enterprise is based just outside of Blaenau Ffestiniog in Gwynedd; that is where the “Stiniog” in the name comes from. Antur is the Welsh word for adventure, so their name translates rather literally to “Adventure Ffestiniog”. And an adventure is exactly what you will get! Famous for mountain biking they offer other adventures too...

Pont Y Pair Bridge In Betws Y Coed Betws-y-Coed

The most popular inland resort in North Wales, partly due to its convenience as a location but mostly thanks to its beauty and splendour. A lot of the village dates back to the Victorians, and their influence still abounds in the buildings. Surrounded by the dense forestry and imposing mountains of the region, Betws-y-Coed feels pleasantly out of the way.
