North Wales has so much to offer Things to do and see

Just 10km south of Llandudno, lies one of Wales’ most beautiful gardens. Built and created by five generations of one family, Bodnant Garden is an unmissable haven of colour, wildlife and peace and quiet.

The Bodnant Welsh Food Centre is a true culinary delight. Buy locally produced food in the farm shop including a butcher and bakery; eat at the Hayloft Restaurant or Furnace Tea Room or why not learn how to do it yourself at the Cookery or Wine School?

We all know that the kids love soft play centres, but so do the adults! Bonkerz Fun Centre in Llandudno is different to your average play centre and the main play centre is suitable for all ages – even the parents!

A huge cavern lit in spectacular bright colours, completely decked out with giant trampoline nets. It’s the first attraction of its kind on the planet, set in a cavern that is more than twice the area of St Paul’s Cathedral, and is an experience like no other. The trampolines are all inter-linked, with tunnels, walkways and slides, with the highest net allowing you to bounce at almost 200 feet above the cavern floor.

Anglesey is chock full of beautiful beaches, and Bull Bay is certainly no exception. This little cove, which is also known as Porth Llechog (“sheltered bay”) to the locals, is overlooked by the town of Amlwch, meaning there are plenty of facilities close at hand, such as a café, pubs, public toilets and plenty of local shops.

The golf course here at Bull Bay is actually the most northerly course in all of Wales, found just outside the small but lovely town of Amlwch on the beautiful Ynys Môn, which is more commonly known by many as the Isle of Anglesey.

If you ever find yourself near the tiny village of Llanfaelog in western Anglesey, then you owe it to yourself to make the short journey to the nearby beach at Cable Bay. The beach is a classically sandy one, with its white-gold sands being sheltered in between headlands on either side.

Cadair Idris is named after the giant of legend who supposedly lived here; the name translates to “Chair of Idris”. It is said that he studied the stars from here, and bestows poetic inspiration to anyone hardy enough to spend the night up there.
