Clays Golf Club - found on the Bryn Estate Road in Wrexham - offers up a perfect level of challenge for novice and veteran golfers alike. This is because it offers both a 9 hole and an 18 hole game; the former of these is ideal for relative newcomers to the golf scene, while the full complement of 18 is certainly rather more challenging.

Both courses are of the mature parkland variety, set within an area of beautiful countryside that spans more than 100 acres. When it comes to the 18 hole course, you are looking at a length of 5900 yards, so it won’t be hugely taxing on the legs, and a (pretty tricky) par score of 69.

And if you happen to be in the market for a new set of clubs, Clays Golf Club is the ideal destination. It is home to a Mizuna National Fitting Centre (one of just three), as well as being the official PGA European Tour Workshop. The Golf Union Wales has recognised it as a Centre of Excellence, and it also plays host to fantastic teaching facilities.

Lastly, you should also take advantage of the driving range to hone your skills, before grabbing a bite to eat in the clubhouse.

Location

Clays is not the easiest place to find but can be found just outside Wrexham, leading towards the industrial estate. A lovely, secluded course.
