Dolgellau Golf Club is a bit of a rarity in North Wales, as it is a nine hole golf course. Dolgellau is located well within the confines of the Snowdonia National Park, giving you ample opportunities to enjoy the fabulous views over both craggy peaks and lush countryside.
The course is a good looking one, with beautiful fairways and plenty of gorse and heather lining the holes. The course is not one of the most challenging that you will encounter in North Wales; it is designed to be enjoyed at a leisurely pace rather than struggled against.
All of the holes are relatively straightforward and impeccably well designed with a few little tricks thrown in to spice things up a little. The last six holes in particular are very enjoyable, all of them taking advantage of spectacular views over the Mawddach Estuary and of Cader Idris.
If you are looking for standout holes, those would be the 7th and the 9th. The former of these offers panoramic views from the fairway, while the latter is a challenging shot made all the better with the surrounding flora. Wish to stay nearby after a day at the course?
