If you are on the lovely Isle of Anglesey and fancy a walk that will get you back to nature, then look no further. This amble is perfect for dog walkers, too – the woods allow for a little off-the-lead fun, with endless hectares of land to explore, and even the beach is a dog-friendly one.

Newborough is one of the largest public forests in all of Wales, with views of the estuary, as well as lots of wildlife to see. There are plenty of red squirrels to encounter, and a clear path that you can follow to the beach, or ignore as you explore the trees.

The main car park is only a couple of minutes’ walk from the beach, so convenience is another factor going for this one, too.

The beach is the broadest on all of Anglesey, stretching from Abermenai to the Cefni Estuary, giving you plenty of space to enjoy or to let the dog run free. It’s lovely, especially on a sunny day.
