If you and the family decide that you really want to make a splash, then be sure to check out Rapid Horizons. Found in the coastal resort town of Llangollen, Rapid Horizons takes you on a fun and thrilling exploration of the lovely River Dee.

The trip takes half a day, and will see you all popped into kayaks to take on some pretty serious rapids. For this reason, it is probably not suitable for younger children, but everyone else should be able to enjoy an adrenaline pumping day out, under the safe guidance of fully qualified raft guides.

The first half is the more thrilling one, taking you through the Grade 4 rapid, the Serpent’s Tail. The middle section of this allows you the opportunity to “surf” your kayak, before taking you into the whitewater Town Falls.

After this, things become a little more sedate. You get to enjoy the beautiful views of the countryside as you coast along the river, finishing up at the glorious Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, where you’ll get to enjoy a spot of lunch. Relax – you’ve earned it!

All of your equipment (helmet, wetsuit and so on) is included in the price.
