If you fancy getting wet and wild, then there is no better destination in North Wales than the Waterworld Leisure and Activity Centre, which you will find just inside Wrexham. The facilities are impressive – for the more serious (and competitively inclined) swimmers in the family, the 6-lane, 25-metre competition pool will be the main draw.
However, for those among you who prefer making a splash, you will surely enjoy the 65-metre slide, straight into the pool! Swimmers who are perhaps a little less confident in their abilities will feel more at ease in the learner pool, where they can get to grips with the fundamentals before putting their skills to the test.
The more adventurous members of the family will love the River Rapids Ride, after which you can all relax in the luxurious bubble pool.
Once you’ve spent a good day swimming, why not head to the nearby Pontcysyllte Aqueduct to enjoy an entirely different side of water? “The Stream in the Sky” is the largest aqueduct in the British Isles, running from Llangollen’s beautiful Horseshoe Falls, and you can enjoy either a vertigo-inducing walk along it, or a more leisurely boat ride across, taking in the amazing views over the River Dee.
