There is nothing better than the smell of mince pies and warm mulled wine at Christmas time. Visiting a Christmas market, wrapped up in as many layers as you can, is all part of the exciting build up to Christmas and is that one time of the year where everyone seems happy and full of cheer.
There are hundreds of local Christmas markets in North Wales, but here are 6 of the best that you should try…
Llandudno Christmas Fayre
Hosted in the centre of town, the Llandudno Christmas fayre is a special one, with over 165 stalls full of local food and drink, hand-made gifts (perfect stocking fillers!), live entertainment and even a Santa’s grotto for the kids!
When? – Thursday 17th November – Sunday 20th November
How much? - £2 for adults, free for children
Portmeirion Food & Craft Fair
Portmeirion is a beautiful place to visit all year round, but it has an extra special atmosphere at Christmas time. The food & craft fair is home to more than over 100 exhibitors showcasing the best Welsh produce. The perfect place to pick up special food and drink to have with your Christmas dinner!
When? – Saturday 3rd December – Sunday 4th December

Rhos-on-Sea Christmas Fair
If you’re looking for Christmas spirit – you’ll definitely find it here! From festive carolling, to freshest of local produce being sold on the stalls, it’s a great little Christmas fayre to visit when you’re in Conwy!
Colwyn Bay Celtic Winter Fair
The Colwy Bay Celtic Winter Fair is a very popular event with locals and visitors, and begins at the peak of Christmas shopping time! It is a festival of food and drink, as well as a range of crafts and fair trade gifts! The perfect way to start your Christmas shopping this year.

Surf Snowdonia Christmas Market
The first ever Christmas Market at Surf Snowdonia. The accommodation pods will be transformed into stalls featuring lots of local food producers as well as a real ale tent (complete with fire pit), live music, a Santa's Grotto and carousel. All this plus the exisiting bar and restaurant, soft play area and don't forget the surfing!

Errdig Christmas Market
This beautiful National Trust building comes alive at Christmas time with a plentiful supply of mince pies and mulled wine. From freshly made Welsh cakes and a variety of local cheeses, to the opportunity to stroke an owl – it’s the perfect way to feel Christmas cheer!
Wrexham Victorian Christmas Market
This is a free market, and one of the most eagerly awaited in North Wales. From stalls selling candles, to toys, cider, jams and much, much more, there’s a whole host of stalls to explore at this fair. Walk into St Giles Cathedral and hear the warming sound of carols surrounding you – a truly special feeling to put you in the mood for Christmas!
