The historic market town of Denbigh is a fantastic place to visit, especially when you consider the magnificent Denbigh Castle that watches over the town, and has done since the days of Edward I’s Conquest of Wales. And what better backdrop to your game of golf than an ancient fort?

Denbigh Golf Club is home to a beautiful parkland course, set over acres of typically Welsh rolling countryside, with mature woodland lining the greens. You will be tempted on more than one occasion during your game to simply stop for a few minutes and take in the views: you can see all the way down the Vale of Clwyd to the sea.

The course itself isn’t a particularly long one, so it won’t take it out of you too much. It might be short but it is certainly challenging - expect your accuracy to be well and truly put to the test!

The par score is 70; if you manage to keep your scorecard looking tidy then we say you more than deserve to treat yourself a little bit; get yourself down to the clubhouse to enjoy a spot of fine dining post-game. And why not make a weekend of it? Check out our cottages in the Denbighshire area here.

This is because it offers both a 9 hole and an 18 hole game; the former of these is ideal for relative newcomers to the golf scene, while the full complement of 18 is certainly rather more challenging.
