This beautiful former gatehouse, built in 1863, is full of character and history has been extended and modernised over the years to provide fabulous accommodation for six people. The entrance leads into a lovely, spacious and light-filled, dining room, ideal for enjoying some late-night dining or planning your next ascent of Snowdon. Leading off the dining room is the modern fitted kitchen with its exposed beams and granite worktops.

There are two lounges, both facing the garden and woodland beyond. The day lounge is on the lower floor, and as the lodge is built on three levels, it has large french doors opening out onto the rear patio and outdoor seating/ dining area, which leads on down a few steps onto a more extensive patio and lawned area. The day lounge is again fabulously light and airy ideal for long relaxing mornings and breakfast on the patio, overlooking the small stream which runs by the cottage. The evening lounge is a few steps up from the kitchen and dining room and has large comfortable chairs, a smart TV and DVD player, and a comfortable cozy feel.

There are three bedrooms (two double bedrooms and one twin/ superking bedroom (zip-and-link beds). The master double with ensuite bathroom (bath and shower cubicle) and TV is on the lower ground floor along with the twin bedroom third WC and utility room with washing machine, drying rack and access to the rear patio and lawn. The third bedroom (double bed with TV and views to the woods) is on the upper ground floor next to the beautifully appointed shower room.

Facilities include full central heating, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, coffee machine, induction hob, toaster, kettle, Wifi, two smart TVs and DVD players (one in each lounge), and two TVs (one in each double bedroom), cot and highchair, garden furniture for the fully enclosed patio and lawn. Bed linen and towels are supplied. There is a strict no-smoking policy at this property. Offroad parking for two cars

Location

Bryntirion Lodge is located on the former Vaynol Park a grand walled estate with connections to the industrial heritage of North Wales. The estate lies between the university City of Bangor and the Royal Town and world heritage site of Caernarfon on the North Wales Coast, just next to the delightful coastal village of Y Felinheli (Port Dinorwic) which looks out over the menai strait towards Anglesey. The lodge itself nestles against the impressive seven mile long wall which encloses the estate and has a wonderfully private feel to it, though the occasional vehicle does still pass through the historic gateway. There is a fantastic array of local wildlife in the area including wild deer which roam the estate woodland, the National Trust also own a section of the former estate (Glan Faenol) which provides the opportunity for some lovely walks down through the woods to the Menai Strait. Further afield though only a few minutes by car, is the famous Zip world in Bethesda, the Snowdonia National Park, Surf Snowdonia, so much more.

This detached lodge was beyond our expectations, the best property we have ever had. Beautifully decorated and equipped and very spacious. We loved it here and didn't want to leave. The property is a credit to it's owners. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Lovely place that is well maintained, equipped and appointed. Would have scored 5 but for the 4' 6" doubles which were a disappointment in such spacious bedrooms. Parking would be tight for two cars.

Thanks for your comments, glad you enjoyed your stay. Yes, the beds are double beds not king size.
