The Stables Bar and Restaurant takes its name from the building in which it is situated – it was once the stables block of Soughton Hall, which has since been wonderfully renovated and transformed into a beautiful dining area.

The restaurant takes its inspiration and runs with it: the décor draws on a horse racing theme, creating a unique setting in which you can enjoy some fantastic food and drink. Said food and drink is the finest in contemporary dining, offering up interesting starters such as the wild mushroom and stilton cheesecake, plus the devilled lamb kidney with toasted bloomer; and great mains like the pan seared seabass fillet with braised potato as well as the black pudding and cheddar stuffed chicken breast.

The dessert menu changes all the time, so unfortunately we can’t give you any examples of their delicious sweets at the minute, but we can tell you that the wine menu is incredibly extensive – with around 250 different wines, you are bound to find something new and delicious to suit your tastes.

And if you are staying in the area, you can afford to have an extra glass or two; The Stables offers a free taxi service at the weekends, as long as you’re staying within 5 miles.
