Location

Meirion Cottage is located on a quiet street in the village of Glan Conwy on the shores of the Conwy river, just as it bends around towards the sea to be overlooked by Conwy Castle. A short walk from the house past the pub and takeaway is Snowdonia Nurseries, a popular local garden centre close to the RSPB Conwy nature reserve. The village is a gateway to the wonderful Conwy Valley, which guides visitors up through the verdant countryside to the market town of Llanrwst and on to the ever-popular Betws Y Coed. A lovely journey by car or train from the station in Glan Conwy. You can even take the train to Bleina Ffestiniog, the historic seat of slate quarrying in North Wales, now home to Bounce Below (an underground trampoline park). From here, you can catch a ride on the Ffestiniog steam railway through even more stunning scenery and marvel at the World Heritage Slate Landscape. Llandudno, Anglesey and the rest of Snowdonia are all easily accessible from this well-placed base for your next holiday.

Very comfortable and quiet house, well located for exploring the coast and Snowdonia. Nice little outside space to enjoy the evening sun. No allocated parking but we had no problem parking outside.

Thank you, great to hear that you enjoyed the house and it's location.

Somewhere you've never been? What is Nearby?

Attraction Image Conwy Castle

Conwy Castle is easily the most spectacular of all the castles in North Wales (and cost the most to build, too!). The castle was built for Edward I by Master James of St George, and is one of the most impressive surviving medieval fortifications in Britain.

Attraction Image Aberconwy House

If you can’t resist a historical day out, Conwy is an ideal location and you won’t want to miss out on Aberconwy House. Known as a hidden gem on the High Street, Aberconwy House is the oldest building in Conwy.

Attraction Image Conwy Town Walls

The town walls of Conwy are a major tourist attraction for the town, and with good reason: they are regarded as one of the most impressive and most intact walled circuits in all of Europe. Dating back to the late 13th century, they are as old as the town itself, and constructed by Edward I to pair with the equally impressive Conwy Castle, they form a foreboding defensive installation.
