The small village of Dolwyddelan sits in the Lledr Valley in the Snowdonia National Park, half-way between Betws-y-Coed and Blaenau Ffestiniog. Dolwyddelan castle, built in the 12th centuary by Llywelyn the Great, is open to the public and looks over the village providing a great view east and west along the valley.
